We are called to know the Lord with our Head, love Him with our Heart and serve Him with our Hands—and there are numerous ways to step into service at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. Listed below are a few suggestions to help you get started. If you need further information, please don’t hesitate to contact the church, a member of our church staff or myself. You will see that Palm Coast United Methodist Church has a lot to offer those who have a heart to serve as Jesus did.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Spiritual Gifts: Administration, Knowledge, Leadership, Teaching
Acolytes
Opportunity for children, 2nd grade and older, to light the candles during Sunday services. Training provided.
C.O.O.L Zone Sunday School
Opportunities include teaching/leading a Children's Sunday School class; grades pre-school, 1st and 2nd ; assisting teachers and leaders in class; help with registration before and check-out after class.
Easter Spring Fling
Annual outreach event on the Saturday before Easter. Help in any way you can with a variety of jobs: set-up and/or clean-up; run games; sell food; assist with the petting zoo and bounce houses.
Nursery Assistants
Serve in the nursery with staff nursery attendant, Celinette Riera, during your chosen worship service.
K4J Sunday School class
Opportunities include teaching/leading a Children's Sunday School class; for grades 5th and 7th, assisting teachers and leaders in class; help with registration before and check-out after class.
Trunk or Treat
Annual event held on the Saturday before Halloween. Assist before the event with collection of candy donations; on the day of the event passing out candy from your decorated car, truck or SUV, and replenishing candy supplies to participants.
United Methodist Christian School
Assist in the classroom or office, or volunteer for special events.

Vacation Bible School
VBS takes place for one week (Mon-Fri), 9 a.m. to noon, usually during the month of June. Assist with registration; be a group leader or assistant for crafts, games, music and/or drama for children ages 4 yrs through 6th grade.
YOUTH MINISTRY & ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Adult Bible Sunday School, 9:30 a.m.
Teach or assist Adult Sunday School class which cover a variety of Bible topics and studies.
Adult Small Groups
Lead small study group (8-12 people) with discussion of varied topics and/or Bible study focusing on Scripture.
Youth Ministry
Lead small study group (8-12 people) with discussion of varied topics and/or Bible study focusing on Scripture.
Leadership and participation from our adults and young adults of the congregation are always welcome!
All youth meet in the Youth Room & Fellowship Hall.
* Wednesday Bible Study & Fellowship: 7th and 8th grades and 9th to 12th grades, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
* Sunday Morning Bible Study & Fellowship: 6th to 8th grades and 9th to 12th grades, 10:45 a.m. – noon.
* Sunday Evening Fellowship: Last Sunday evening every month; 5th to 12th grades; 4-6 p.m.

Contemporary Praise Team

The Praise Team provides vocals and instrumental music for the Contemporary Service on Sundays at 10:00am. Weekly rehearsals and warm-up prior to worship required. Contact: 386-302-1015.
Chancel Choir
Chancel Choir sings at the traditional services on Sunday September through June. Weekly rehearsal takes place 6:30-8:30pm on Thursdays in the Music Suite & Sanctuary.
Concert Series
Concert Series presents various music programs and visual art presentations October through May. Serving CS includes administration, advisory council, ticket sales, traffic control, web programming, ushering & art coordinator.
Handbell Choir
Rehearses on Wednesday 3:30-4:30 pm in the Music Suite and rings on the 2nd Sunday of the month, September through May.

Flagler Pines Nursing Home
Assist with monthly worship at the Flagler Pines Nursing Home on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Hospital Visitations
Visiting church members in the hospital.
Memorial Receptions
Help provide a comforting reception in Fellowship Hall following memorial services which includes accepting food donations in the kitchen (cookies, brownies or punch); set-up and clean-up of Fellowship Hall and the kitchen.
Shut-in Ministry
Visit shut-ins or homebound in nursing homes and/or private homes.

This is a care and relationship ministry for those going through difficult times. Stephen ministers develop a one-on-one relationship and walk hand in hand with a care receiver. Training provided.

PRAYER MINISTRY
Meets weekly on Monday morning in the Prayer Room to pray according to the requests received during the week. Prayer time also scheduled during the week.

Pre-Prayer for Worship
Prayer time and anointing of sanctuary in preparation for Sunday worship services. Group meets in Sanctuary on Saturdays, late afternoon.
MEDIA TECHNOLOGY

Media Team
Provides audio/visual support for Sunday worship services; funerals and weddings, as needed. Opportunities to serve include helping at the sound board, working the light system and designing media and on-screen graphics.
NORTH CAMPUS COMMITTEE

Events Coordinator
Assist with coordinating activities of the north campus including playing field, pavilion, and other outdoor amenities; maintain a calendar of events, encourage use of the property for church ministries and oversee stewardship of property.

Angel Tree Ministry
The Angel Tree holds information about Christmas gifts that can be donated to needy children in the area. Assistance needed for set up and decorating in November; take down and put away decorations after Epiphany Sunday.

Family Life Center
This center is a domestic emergency shelter. Help with administrative duties, housekeeping or handyman work.

Habitat for Humanity
Assist with Habitat work day at a local site; promote participation among the congregation; assemble a team and work at the site.
Operation Christmas Child: Samaritan's Purse
Takes place in October; organize, promote, and collect shoeboxes filled with small Christmas gifts for needy children.
School Supplies
Help organize & promote collection and delivery of school supplies for Flagler County needy children in July-August.
Sheltering Tree
The Sheltering Tree, housed at First UMC of Bunnell, serves homeless individuals/families with meals and shelter when the winter temperatures drop below 40 degrees. There are rotating opportunities to serve.

Soldier’s Ministry
Assist with organizing and promoting this ministry within the congregation; help collect and pack donated items to be shipped to the Middle East to our military men and women.
“Undie” Sunday Clothing Collection
Organize, collect and deliver “undies” and socks for needy children in the Flagler County area.
United Methodist Women
Women's group which supports local/global missions projects and organizations, and varied services to our Flagler community. Unit and small group meetings take place monthly.

Welcoming Team
The Welcoming Team is responsible for welcoming, greeting, ushering and gift distribution at all Sunday morning services.

Worship Committee meets monthly except during summer months to plan special worship services through the year.
Altar Preparation
Prepare the altar for Sunday worship: check/replace candles, clean brass candlesticks; set up for Communion Sundays.
Communion Assistants
Assist on a rotating basis as congregation servers, pew servers, stewards and Communion preparers. Completing a 1-1/2 hour Communion training class required.
Decorating Team
Add visual impact to the worship experience in our sanctuary and the welcoming atmosphere in our narthex through the use of banners, fabrics, floral arrangements, and unique presentations on the altar.
Pew Stocker
Restock sanctuary pews with envelopes, informational cards and pencils on a regular basis.
